Welcome listeners to today's Tuesdays with Coach Mo podcast. I am executive Coach Monique Betty affectionately known as Coach Mo.

Having supported a significant number of high achievers along their career journey, one thing I know is true is "a career journey should not be traveled alone.

“Thank you for helping me take my job search to the next level!”

This is a direct quote from a satisfied client. After completing my job search marketing plan, this client landed a leadership position in a giant tech firm located on the East Coast.

Whether you are currently in the midst of a job search or thinking about the process for a future move, then you are at the right place for gaining perspective from a resource you want to keep on your radar.

I am talking today with career writer and thinker, Mark Anthony Dyson, Founder of The Voice of the Job Seekers. Mark’s award-winning blog and podcast are a rich source of information for anyone exploring the job market. He is always hacking and reimagining the modern job search. He is the author of the E-Book “421 Modern Job Search Tips 2021! He has been featured in Forbes, Business Insider, Inc., Fast Company, and on Linkedin News LIVE with Andrew Seaman.

Now, as you will hear, I really like Mark’s perspective about the new age of job search - - you must think about it as a lifestyle versus a one-off event that you only engage in when you have to find a job. By embracing job search as a lifestyle, you’ll be in a much better position when it is time for a job pivot versus if you attempt to go from 0 to 100 mph to find a job, which can be draining. If you’re like many others, who spin their wheels, undermining their confidence with worry and simply job-seeking fatigue.

As we enter this interview, you will hear Mark responding to my question regarding how he got on this professional journey.

What we will learn from today is to be involved in your industry, be seen by keeping your LinkedIn profile current and engage in content that displays your Subject Matter expertise, and most importantly consider the job search as a dimension of your lifestyle and actively take steps to learn, do and grow.

Coach Mo Knows (a tip, a coaching question, and a bit of inspiration)

Connect with Mark Anthony Dyson:

Coaching Question:

  1. Engage in a discussion on LinkedIn to display your Subject Matter Expertise,
  2. Take the initiative to connect with someone who is working in a position or at a company of interest to you
  3. Create a job search plan.

Which of these options will you do this week to advance your efforts in a job search?

DM on Instagram on Tuesdays with Coach Mo and let me know your plans. I will include you on the ‘wait list’ for when I launch the small group coaching program, Job Search Marketing Plan, this coming Fall.
