If I asked you to complete the following sentence with just one word what word would you choose?

Change is_____.

Your answer may run the full gamut from change is good or change is bad. You may describe change as challenging or difficult or exciting or scary. Ultimately the most accurate and universal answer of all is quite simply.. Change is inevitable

Change is taking place - - like it or not.

My question to you is: How important is it to you to have an understanding of how you respond to change, and how others around you (boss, team, coworkers) respond to that change?

In today’s podcast, I will share with you what I believe to be specific steps you can take to effectively lead others through change and steps for leading yourself through change.

So here are a few considerations I believe are important for you as an emerging...

Consider this, if you are progressing on the typical timeline, by the time your 22 years old, you have officially launched your full-time career.

As you look ahead, you can expect to spend the next 40 years on your career journey. And in general, there is a significant possibility that you will have 10 different jobs during this time.

Whether prompted by some external factor that you have no control over or by a choice you make, how prepared are you to navigate this time of change?

What I have come to discover is that people generally hate the thought of looking for a job.

It is uncomfortable. It’s filled with disappointment. It takes a great deal of time and you work in a ‘fog’ of not knowing when it all comes to an end by landing the next opportunity.

In today’s podcast, I am thrilled to speak with Kimberly...

Displaying confidence seems to be an unwritten rule for getting ahead within large organizations. Those we see as displaying a outgoing personality, head held high, and they know how to say all the right things at the right time. But, is this true?

I believe that high-achieving professionals can achieve their executive ambitions by appropriately building and applying their confidence.

Consider two perspectives: first from Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic, Professor of business psychology at the University College London, and author of the book Confidence, and second from my experience coaching high achieving professionals.

Professor Tomas describes two extremes of self-evaluation. On one end is overconfidence. On the other end is humility, and possibly even insecurity.

What I found particularly interesting in the book is the...

Today’s podcast is about the community and you.

As we have witnessed in recent weeks, people taking to the streets and amplifying calls for policy reform is just one example of how this generation of young people insist that change happens.

When deciding what company to work for, you place a premium on their social responsibility and expect that their values will be in alignment with your values.

In today’s podcast I interview Dwayne Bryant, CEO and Founder of Inner Vision International Inc. Recognized as an EBONY Power 100 2018 Honoree, Dwayne is a dynamic motivational speaker who is committed to empowering individuals to recognize their value as societal contributors and global citizens.

As you will hear, I outline the four benefits you achieve personally and professionally by being engaged in your local community.

The corporate perspective on race is changing.

Have you, or someone you know, experienced the reality that the corporation where you worked somehow operated under a vail of inequity and unfairness? Those who were steadily advancing within the corporation looked different from you.

If so, you are like the hundreds of clients I serve; high achieving women, people of color and LGBTQ people.

For more than 10 years now, I have provided executive coaching services to high-achievers who have worked hard to get the education and skills in pursuit of fulfilling their executive ambitions.

My guest on today’s podcast is Dr. Tim Ewing, an expert in organizational diversity and inclusion. He has worked with large corporations, Abbott Laboratories, Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company and Novartis to strategically plan an advance their...

The parallel existence of two pandemics, one health and one racism, have shifted us into a state of disruption to what was once certain in our everyday life.

While in this disruptive state, many of us are searching for answers. Because somehow, someway having answers, whether good or bad, tends to reduce the anxiousness we feel when facing ambiguity.

In today's podcast Uncertainty: Charting your Path to a New Normal, I am joined by Ampersand CEO and founder, my friend Holly O'Driscoll, who’s firm is a design thinking and human centered innovation strategy consultancy.

Holly’s work focuses on how groups and teams maximize the diversity of their human capital and unleash the conditions for deriving solutions to complex problems for purposes of achieving business success.

Navigating uncertainty is...

Be A Professional Working With Purpose

Dealing with a world-wide pandemic affects everything. One of the few things we can control is who we are. We get to decide how we react and respond.

Many people are not sure if going back (whatever that means to you) is what they really want. Today’s podcast is for the people who want to proactively create a life, personal and professional, around their life’s purpose.

What is your life purpose?

2:29 Monique shares how she found herself at a fork in the road, at a most unexpected time. She was in corporate sales and her clients were financial firms. Then “Black Monday” hit and everything changed including her employment options.

6:59 Monique learned:

  • Unpredictable things are going to happen that you can’t plan for.
  • You can determine how you’ll respond.
  • It’s up to each of us to create opportunities where we are today, and where we’d like to be tomorrow.
  • Knowing and using your strengths are key to enjoying work and are likely...
